The decision to start a business with jelly was fully focused by Nha after the company was working to withdraw from the Vietnamese market in time for the Covid-19 epidemic.

Nha shared, cooking jelly does not take too much time to become a product, but the preparation of ingredients is more elaborate. For example, jelly must be soaked for 24 hours before cooking.

The reason why Mom’s jelly is “addictive” to many customers, Nha said, is because the product is less sweet, the ingredients are natural, there are no colors or preservatives… Especially, the vegetable dish. The fishing line made by Nha uses fresh seaweed from the sea, combined with coffee, cocoa, coconut milk, pandan leaves… to create a unique and harmonious flavor.

Currently, Nha has about 30-40 wholesalers, taking goods around every month, the quantity is from 10-50 boxes, depending on the termites. Importers are scattered in the central provinces and in Ho Chi Minh City with clean food stores and small supermarkets. Along with wholesalers, Nha also retails directly, retails online to customers, daily revenue is about 10-12 million VND and about 300 million VND per month.

When asked about the amount of capital to start a business with jelly, Nha shared, this startup of hers is not too expensive. At first, we only spent 100,000-200,000 VND to buy ingredients for trial cooking, then put them in the refrigerator available in the family to sell 10 boxes per day.

The average jellyfish sells 200-300 boxes a day, even during the Covid-19 epidemic or Tet holiday, the number of jellyfish can still be sold with a sudden amount of up to 1,000 – 1,200 boxes/day.

When the number of sales gradually increased, Nha spent about 20 million VND more to buy a cooler with a pot, industrial gas stove, aluminum table to cook jelly. Selling hundreds of boxes a day, Nha continued to invest in buying two more refrigerators with nearly 40 million VND. Thus, the amount of capital spent is only about 60 million VND to start a business with jelly.

According to the plan, Nha intends to develop more products that can be combined with jelly and develop a chain of stores to sell jellyfish directly to many customers to enjoy and bring the product to Hanoi.

From wholesalers and retailers, Nha currently earns about 10-12 million VND per day and about 300 million VND per month.

Through a number of fairs, with her foreign language skills, Nha has also introduced products to many foreign customers. The young girl hopes her jelly will become a traditional Vietnamese dish so that she can introduce it to international friends when visiting Vietnam.

The young owner further revealed that Mom’s jelly has also been tried by Nha to customers in Malaysia and Cambodia via online channels.
