Honoring traditional Vietnamese beauty through contemporary fashion show

Cuong Dam is a familiar name in the Vietnamese fashion world with minimalist designs. Starting from a background as an architect with many national awards, he approaches creativity based on logical thinking about layout – shape – color of architectural art. These creative thoughts continue to be developed at the London Academy of Fashion (LCDF) – where he explores his artistic perspective with designs based on a contemporary spirit with inspiration from Vietnamese culture. . The highlight of the designer’s career is the success of the show The Warriors in Yoshiwara took place within the framework of LCDF Fashion Week 2020, which is well received by fashionistas.

Cuong Dam has accompanied many faces such as Miss Luong Thuy Linh, fashionista Quynh Anh Shyn, Tu Hao, MC Lieu Ha Trinh… Especially, Cuong Dam has accompanied Kim Duyen in her journey to conquer the beauty of Miss Universe 2021. . Most recent, Ho Ngoc Ha also chose his design as a costume for the show at Vietnam International Fashion Week. It is known that Ha Ho’s costume is one of the designs in the collection.

Incubating ideas for many years, designer Cuong Dam organizes Fashion and Art Week Inflowing with the desire to convey Vietnamese cultural values ​​through the language of fashion and art. The project includes a fashion night to launch a new collection and a week to showcase the research and creation process of the designs.

Featured in the Fashion and Art Week series of events Inflowing is a fashion show launching the collection of the same name, marking a strong transformation of designer Cuong Dam in his fashion journey. Fashion Inflowing Show was held with a limited number of guests of 100 people, gathering many big names in the entertainment world, from top artists with impressive fashion styles, to popular fashionistas… As revealed by the designer, the show is carefully invested in sound, light, and stage, promising to create a space not inferior to international catwalks. Participating in leading the event are famous figures in the professional world.

Designer Cuong Dam’s costumes also show non-structural, non-gender, forward-looking and international vision.

Inflowing with 42 designs with “raw materials” that are rustic, simple, bold with national traditions such as rice grains, rice bundles, hats, camisoles, four-body shirts… developed and transformed into lines by Cuong Dam haute couture, sustainable and contemporary. The future is clearly conveyed through the breakthrough shape, innovative texture and youthful color gamut, demonstrating the difference in the designer’s fashion vision. The collection depicts pride in traditional values, with the desire to extend to modern art and reach international levels.

Fashion and Art Week Infowing will take place from June 13 to 19, 2022 at VCCA Center for Contemporary Art – Royal City, Hanoi.
