This patient has a serious illness, a deep coma, a ventilator, a very serious condition, and a death prognosis.

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep – Director of Hue Central Hospital, the doctors tried their best to actively treat, monitor and evaluate the patient’s condition.

However, the patient’s clinical course did not change during resuscitation. The hospital’s brain death review board conducted tests and clinical evaluation to identify the patient’s brain death on June 4.

This 33-year-old male patient has a cousin who is one of the end-stage chronic renal failure patients on routine dialysis, waiting for a kidney transplant opportunity at Hue Central Hospital. Understanding the wishes of patients in need of a kidney transplant, the patient’s family wishes to donate a kidney to save the life of his brother and other patients.

Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep – Director of Hue Central Hospital said, this is the first case of organ donation after brain death in Hue and the Central – Central Highlands region.

“The moment of sending the 33-year-old male patient home to his family to take care of the aftermath took place in everyone’s emotions. Everyone appreciates the heart and open mind of the organ donor’s family.
