Set up the incense burner at the Tran Hung Dao monument
On the morning of March 17, Ho Chi Minh City held an incense burner and inaugurated the refurbishment project of two Me Linh parks and Bach Dang wharf, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The incense burner is offered to be placed under the statue of Saint Tran Hung Dao as before after 3 years of being brought to the temple on Vo Thi Sau street, early this morning.
Previously, in February 2019, District 1 embellished the area of the statue of Saint Tran Hung Dao, and moved the incense burner under the monument to the temple on Vo Thi Sau street. The move of the incense censer met with some reactions because they thought it had taken away the place of worshiping Saint Tran of Ho Chi Minh City people for many years.
After the time when the censer was placed, many people in Ho Chi Minh City stopped by to burn incense for Saint Tran.
Huong is prepared by the park management for people to come and burn incense.
Tran Hung Dao monument at Me Linh site was built before 1975 with reinforced concrete. The statue is 4m high, placed on a pedestal with 3 sides 12m high, clad with brown stone, 3 faces of the statue has 6 plaques depicting the battles of foreign invaders.
The restoration work of the statue of Saint Tran Hung Dao was proposed from June 2021, but due to this stressful time of the epidemic, the embellishment was postponed to September. After announcing the plan to embellish the statue of Saint, the city invited people to comment on the battery color, design, relief and incense burner. Me Linh Park has been decorated with many items such as the background is replaced with granite with a total area of 3,290m2, planted many new trees, added stone seats, an artificial lake of 900m2 after the repaired monument. On the floor, the lighting system is supplemented with lamp posts up to 3m high and many low lamp posts nearly 1m low.
