National-level relic ancient communal house was painted and painted to make posters

The hundred-year-old house, which is a national historical and cultural relic, has been painted with a new layer of paint to make a poster to respond to Youth Month 2022.

Recently, Tu Dong communal house – National historical and cultural relic in residential area 4, Cam Thuong ward (Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province) has just been painted over the entire gable to make posters for enjoying for Youth Month 2022.

This is the youth project “Mural Road” made by the youth union members of Cam Thuong Ward. The gable to the left of the communal house is painted in its entirety, drawing a map of Vietnam. In addition, the 40m fence of the monument is also covered with paint.

On March 19, talking with PV, Mr. Dinh Van Tuyen – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cam Thuong Ward confirmed that such an incident happened in the area.

Mr. Tuyen shared that the painting of posters on the wall of the ancient communal house started from the fact that on the wall there were old slogans and garbage advertisements printed on them. According to the direction of Hai Duong Youth Union to do youth work, the youth union proposed to paint posters to cover the shortcomings of old slogans and garbage advertisements. In terms of the monument’s spirit, it is not foreseen that doing so is trespassing.

“After receiving feedback and the Inspector of the Department of Culture for inspection and advice, we have corrected it by repainting and erasing all the color paintings,” said Tuyen.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong province, Tu Dong communal house was built in the post-Le dynasty and is a national historical and cultural relic. The communal house has been repaired many times, the biggest one was in the second year of Tu Duc decade (1869).

Tu Dong communal house is an architectural and artistic work that is quite synchronous in terms of landscape, ancestral worship, and harem. This is a very rare communal house from the Le Dynasty in Hai Duong City.
