In order to service the demolition and construction of this item, the Hanoi Department of Transportation required a barrier of approximately 129 m from the bridge deck in the Hai Ba Trung district, and at the same time adjust the median between the bridges accordingly. The branch connecting Nguyen Khoai road to the Vinh Tuy bridge was also completely closed during the project construction period.
During the closing of the bridge entrance from Nguyen Khoai Road, trucks and passenger cars headed to Nguyen Khoai and Bach Dang roads and boarded the Thanh Tri bridge. At the same time, a temporary road under the bridge was also constructed to replace the Bach Dang road that passes through the project.
Motorcycles and cars are shared to go to Minh Khai Street and turn in front of the gates of the Times City urban area before taking the bridge to Long Bien.

The Vinh Tuy 2 bridge construction project started in January 2021 with a total investment of more than 2,500 billion VND. This bridge has the same design as the Vinh Tuy 1 bridge with a total length and track of more than 3.4 km; cross section 19.25m (4 lanes); the static height of the bridge is 11m; The starting point is at Km0+840 (intersection with Nguyen Khoai and Minh Khai roads), the ending point is at Km4 + 312.62 (intersection with Long Bien – Thach Ban and Co Linh roads).
The Vinh Tuy 2 bridge is expected to be fully completed by June 2023, a synchronous connection with the overhead Ring 2 project is under construction, extending to the Nga Tu So junction.
