Foreign investors returned to be a net buyer of nearly 2,500 billion dong

This week, foreign investors net bought nearly 2,500 billion dong, ending the previous four consecutive weeks of net selling.

The market has gained for the second consecutive week, although it has not yet surpassed the threshold of 1,500 points. Closing this week, VN-Index stood at 1,498.5 points, up 2% compared to last week. On the HNX, HNX-Index increased by 2.34%, while UPCOM-Index increased by 0.83% during the week.

Foreign investors’ trade was a bright spot when this group bought 202 million shares, worth 10,459 billion dong, and sold 159 million shares, worth nearly 8,000 billion dong. The total net buying volume was over 2,470 billion dong, ending the previous four consecutive weeks of net selling.

In which, foreign investors made a sudden net purchase of DGC with a value of more than 1,000 billion VND, and STB with 319 billion VND. GEX and MSN were both net bought over 200 billion dong. In contrast, VNM was sold the most with 274 billion dong, NVL and dong were net sold at 224 billion dong and 145 billion dong.

However, this week’s net buying result only narrowed the net selling scale of foreign investors since the beginning of the month. Foreign investors are aiming for the 8th consecutive month of net selling and the third month since the beginning of 2022. In general, since the beginning of the month, foreign investors have net sold nearly 4,000 billion dong.

Contrary to foreign investors, this week is the time when individual investors sell the most. Accordingly, this group sold more than 2,000 billion dong on HoSE, ending the previous series of 4 consecutive weeks of net buying.

While DGC is the most “favored” by foreign investors, this is the most strongly sold stock by domestic individual investors with a value of nearly 1,000 billion dong. VPB and HPG were sold net 303 billion and 232 billion dong, respectively. TCB was also net sold over 200 billion dong. On the other side, VNM was the strongest net buyer with 259 billion dong, counterbalanced with the selling volume of foreign investors.

Domestic institutional investors, despite having the 5th consecutive week of net selling, the value decreased by more than 70% compared to the previous week, recorded at VND 473 billion.

GEX is the stock that was sold the most by domestic organizations with 272 billion dong. FLC and MWG are behind with a net selling value of VND 207 billion and VND 173 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, VPB was bought the most with 301 billion dong, HPG and TCB were net bought 243 billion dong and 211 billion dong respectively.
