In the words of Mr. Nguyen Van Ba ​​(69 years old) – the owner of the ancient sua tree, the nickname Ba “Sua” is given by everyone because his family has a “terrible” and most beautiful tree in the province. Quang Nam.

Mr. Ba introduced, this red sua tree has an estimated height of 50m from the base to the top, about 6m in diameter, it takes 10 adults to hug each other to be able to cover the root.

The trunk is divided into 3 branches, radiating in different directions. Each branch is as big as a communal house pillar and has a rim width of about 5m. Due to the age of hundreds of years, the roots of this “giant” sua tree are also huge, spreading to the surrounding ground about 50m².

This is an old tree, so the bark is very rough, each patch is peeling and imprinted with old age. In particular, the tree grows very well, the foliage reaches high and covers a large area of ​​​​500m².

“The natural winding succulents are very beautiful, looking like arms reaching out to protect this village for the past 300 years,” said Mr. Ba.

Precious assets, even paying “mountain of money” do not sell

This is a “terrible” tree, very precious, so it is always well protected by Mr. Ba’s family and he is determined not to sell it to anyone, even though traders constantly come to ask to buy it.

According to Mr. Ba, when the price was “fever”, there were many people from the North and the South to ask to buy the tree. There are even months, dozens of people come to ask to buy with many towering prices.

Mr. Ba added that at first, the small sua tree was planted near the shrine. After a while, the sua tree grew, the roots spread and encroached on the temple. Seeing this, his family members moved the shrine to the outside so that the tree could continue to grow in size.

“Because the sua tree is planted next to the village shrine, there is a spiritual element and a long tradition of the family, so I cherish it like my life. I told my children and grandchildren in the future, even if I died, I wouldn’t have to because of lack of money. sell it,” explained Mr. Ba.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a timber trader in Tam Ky city (Quang Nam province) said that according to the information he learned, this tree is much “terrible” compared to the one in Bac Ninh. The sua tree that Mr. Ba’s family owns, if it’s red and has a good core, is really a “golden block” worth billions of dollars.
