The 19-year-old boy made 20 million USD thanks to NFT
Victor Langlois, 19, sold his NFT Paint Drop collection and raised $20 million in just one day.
“Honestly, I was quite surprised that the collection was so well received,” Langlois, nicknamed Fewocious, told the BBC. Fortune on 7/4.
Langlois offers Paint Drop with colorful 3D paint drops on the trading platform NFT Nifty Gateway for a limited time 24 hours earlier this week. The collection quickly attracted more than 5,000 buyers, generating the equivalent of $20 million in sales – the third highest in Nifty Gateway’s transaction history.
Although only 19 years old, Langlois is considered one of the most successful artists in the NFT community. Before that, he sold many other collections and earned more than 30 million USD. Currently, NFTs in collections like Langlois’ Sotherby or Christie’s are priced at $100,000 or more.
With Paint Drop, each NFT has a different Paint stat to determine rarity and selling price. Langlois said that in the future, Paint will represent the power of NFT when joining the virtual universe he built himself called PooroWorld – a metaverse with multiple NFTs existing together, creating a vibrant, colorful world.
According to Langlois, Paint Drop is PooroWorld’s starting NFT. Going forward, he will be adding mini NFT characters named Rareos to this virtual world.
Earning tens of millions of dollars, but Langlois said: “My dream is not to enjoy or do nothing. I still dream of drawing every day.”
