When they got inside, they both took hammers and knives in their backpacks and threatened to control S., Hong and Le Thi Du (SN 1950, a maid) and tied them up with ropes. Next, the two put knives on S.’s body and led them upstairs to ask for the password to open the room door.
Here, the two rummaged for a lot of Vietnamese and USD money, put it in their backpacks and went downstairs. After that, the two quickly ran out into the car of their accomplices to escape. The maid with S. informed the family and the police.
Upon receiving the news, the PC02 Division cooperated with the District 5 Police to blockade the scene, examine the scene, and take witness statements. The family said that the stolen property was nearly 3 billion VND, including Vietnamese money and USD.
According to Thanh Thanh newspaper, through quick investigation, the police found that the robbery took place within 20 minutes, no one in the house resisted, there was no sign of shouting or notifying outsiders.
At the same time, the police discovered that the group of two young men was not alone, but also accompanied by two other people including a woman and a man. “The duties of each member of the bandit group may have been pre-determined from the role of a guard to committing a crime,” said an investigative officer.
The expressions of the two maids were very suspicious. In it, Ms. Du testified that she was controlled by a robber, brought to the kitchen to threaten, searched and took away 10 million VND. Both also said that they were tied up and threatened.

Accordingly, Hong and Ms. Du were originally domestic helpers for the rich family on Tran Binh Trong Street, Ward 4, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. Every time they return to their hometown, the two tell stories about helping Thao. Knowing that this family has a lot of money, the three invited each other to discuss to steal or rob property.
Thao brought this story to her husband Khanh, Thai, Trung, and Phung invited to join. After that, the group agreed and prepared knives, hammers, strings… waiting for the right moment to strike.

While the insiders Hong and Du were still working as domestic helpers, the whole group discussed the plan via Zalo to prepare.
“On Saturday (April 9) Mrs. Du and Hong texted that the owner was going to eat the newspaper and we were preparing a plan to rob” – Thai declare.
Thai immediately prepared a knife (gold-handled Thai knife) used to threaten, a hammer to break cabinets and fake paper boxes as gifts. Particularly, Thao called her biological mother in the countryside, and Dung informed her plan to invite her to do the same. Ms. Dung also invited her husband Trung to go to Ho Chi Minh City to rob.
On the evening of April 9, Thai, Khang, Trung and Thao rode motorbikes and waited outside the house waiting for a signal from Mrs.
At 19:20, Mrs. Du asked to come in, Thai brought a gift box, Khang followed to support. The other two were on guard.
This group staged, robbed about 1.8 billion and 10 thousand USD and then escaped. The phone Khang was afraid of being located, so he removed the sim and threw it away.
