7-year-old girl died suspected of being abused: What did the mother say?

As Vietnamnet reported, at 7:00 am on April 11, Cu Chi Regional General Hospital (HCMC) received a case of an NNTA girl who was hospitalized in a state of emergency with many marks of injury.

The two people who brought the baby to the emergency room are the mother and biological aunt, who are living in Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district. At 8 o’clock on the same day, girl A. was dead.

From the wound on admission, the hospital suspected that the girl died from violence, so she reported it to the police and other authorities.

Receiving the news, the Ho Chi Minh City Police is coordinating with the Cu Chi District Police to investigate and clarify the cause of the baby’s death.

Initially, the authorities noted that the cause of death of baby A. was acute multi-organ failure, there were scratches on the baby’s body that had healed and some new traces of infection were suspected. due to prolonged abuse.

On April 1, Mrs. N. saw that her daughter had scratches on her body, swollen hands and feet, and a wound on her forehead, so she asked, and she said she had hurt herself.

The next day, Mrs. N. took her child to a general clinic in Cu Chi district and was informed that she had kidney disease. The clinic asked the family to take the baby to the hospital as soon as possible for testing and treatment.

At noon on April 2, Mrs. N. took baby A. to Cu Chi Regional General Hospital for examination. Doctors said that baby A. suffered a minor head injury and did not need to be hospitalized. On April 8, Mrs. N continued to take her son to the doctor.

On April 11, Mrs. N. and A.’s two aunts discovered that the baby was comatose, her limbs were swollen, so she was taken to Cu Chi Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, but baby A died later.

Working with the police, Ms. N. said that the doctors informed that baby A died due to severe kidney failure, and the emergency was delayed.

As for the hospital emergency department, when receiving baby A., they found that there were many old and new wounds on the baby’s body, suspected of being abused, so they reported it to the Cu Chi District Police.
