On April 11, the police of District 12 (HCMC) temporarily detained and took testimony from Dinh Tien Tri (50 years old, from Thai Binh province) to investigate the act of murder.
Tri is the suspect who stabbed the man to death at Nga Tu Ga Bus Station, Thanh Loc Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of April 10.
According to initial investigation results, Tri is a motorbike taxi driver, operating at Nga Tu Ga bus station. On the afternoon of April 10, the suspect went to a drink shop in the bus station when a conflict occurred leading to a scuffle with Mr. NTD (36 years old, from Vinh Phuc).
Tri then used a 15 cm long screwdriver to stab Mr. D. several times and then fled. The victim was taken to the hospital by locals but did not survive.
Receiving the news, District 12 Police coordinated with professional units of Ho Chi Minh City Police to examine the scene, extract security camera images to track down the culprit.
At 10am on April 11, the police arrested Tri in Tien Giang province and moved to Ho Chi Minh City to take testimony.
