Tip 1: Understand the essence of the problem, always find every nook and cranny of the problem, don’t miss out on knowledge. Only when understanding the nature will it help to remember the knowledge for a long time and not take much time to review the lessons.
Tip 2: This is an English learning tip that everyone should apply, which is to “immerse” yourself in the English language. Kien Trung did not learn machines, did not learn grammar first, but let himself have a lot of exposure to English. In his spare time, male students often watch movies, listen to music, and read stories in English. Gradually, these things involuntarily form study habits without having to force themselves.

2. Interview round
The time for the school to filter applications is more than 3 months, only students who meet the requirements will continue to enter the interview round. According to information Kien Trung learned, only 8 Vietnamese students were allowed to participate in this qualifying round. Kien Trung also struggled in the process of hunting for scholarships, due to lack of experience, he asked for help from a well-known study abroad counseling center in completing procedures.
The interview round took about 20 minutes, with 2 judges, both Vietnamese and former students of Wesleyan University, asking questions to the male student. They asked Kien Trung about skills and future orientation such as: Why do male students choose Wesleyan University over another school? Why did you decide to study abroad and choose Computer Science? What is your personal advantage?,…
Kien Trung excitedly shared: “The judges were quite psychological, they encouraged me to be less nervous and try to complete the interview round well. I talked a lot about my plans and my desire to carry out practical activities for my hometown Tuyen Quang. In addition, I also talked about “my brand hair”, I think this is a plus point to help me get a scholarship.
When I was young, I often cut my hair very short, so I didn’t notice anything unusual. When I was in middle school, when I changed my hairstyle, I realized that when my hair grows long, it will curl back. At first, I was not confident because I was often teased by my friends. But then, I accepted my new hair. I think everyone has imperfections. Instead of guilt, denying it, why don’t we happily accept it and consider it a personal mark?”.
About 3 months after the end of the interview round, Kien Trung received the results of the admission. Although it was 2 am, the male student still informed his relatives and friends to share his great joy. The male student’s mother was the happiest person because the day before was his mother’s birthday. “At that time, my mother was very emotional, she said that the 100% scholarship was the most meaningful birthday gift that she received in her life”, Kien Trung happily said.
