At the end of 2016, Huyen went to Cambodia to meet Nhan again and was assigned by Nhan to buy and sell kidneys with a doctor named Tran (a Singaporean working at the Military Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia). Tran said Huyen returned to Vietnam to find someone who wanted to sell a kidney, sent it to Cambodia for a kidney transplant for someone in need. Tran paid Huyen from $15,000 to $17,000/kid. At the beginning of April 2017, Dao Duc Hai Viet went to Cambodia to sell a kidney to Huyen since then they have known each other. After returning home, Viet joined Huyen in organizing the sale of kidneys and was tasked by Huyen to go to Facebook to find a kidney seller to do tests and transfer to Huyen and Huyen to pay Viet from 15 million VND. up to 25 million VND/kidney if successful kidney transplant surgery. During the period from April 2017 to January 20, 2019, Ton Nu Thi Huyen and her accomplices found more than 100 kidney sellers and had them tested at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Chi Minh City. Out of 37 people who sold kidney transplants to other people, the investigation agency identified 20 people after selling their kidneys with health damage ranging from 45% to 69%.
