The Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology also suggested that the Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology/Pasteur coordinate with the provinces/cities in the area in charge, proactively coordinating vaccines among localities to ensure effective use of the vaccine.

The Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology also said that earlier, on March 1, the Institute had a decision to allocate the Moderna vaccine from COVAX Facility’s aid for injection use for people aged 18 years and over.

On March 31, the Ministry of Health approved the COVID-19 vaccine Moderna for use in children from 6 to under 12 years old.

Under the Expanded Immunization Program, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has issued a document guiding the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 5 – under 12 years old, including instructions on using Moderna vaccine for children. people from 6 – under 12 years old with the injection dose of 0.25 ml.

However, currently, some localities have not used up all the Moderna vaccines that have been allocated from the COVAX Facility’s aid. In order to minimize the risk of wasting Moderna vaccine, the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has proposed and approved by COVAX Facility to use the above Moderna vaccines to immunize children from 6 to under 12 years old.
