Ms. Hanh has left Hue and entered the city. Ho Chi Minh City to earn a living from the age of 8. At that time, she had to sell lottery tickets and boiled peanuts to earn money to send back to her hometown to help her mother raise the children. From that moment, she decided to open a shop selling pho, beef vermicelli, and vermicelli for a living around the Da Kao market area (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). “My family has a tradition of selling food and drinks, from a young age I was also taught to make many dishes by my mother. At that time, my meal was only about 3,000-4,000 VND/bowl. Thanks to the charm of trading, I gradually built up selling beef noodle soup like now,” Hanh shared.

Thanks to the unique flavor that few places have, Hanh’s noodle shop was able to develop and open more branches. According to Ms. Hanh, “Mam ruoc is the special ingredient of the restaurant”. This is also recognized by Mr. Trung, a long-time customer of the restaurant: “The thing that keeps me attached to this restaurant is to keep the typical flavor of Hue, but still suitable for the taste of the people in the region. The beef noodle chain currently has nearly 50 employees, of which nearly 30 are relatives in the countryside who come to sell with them. Some people have no jobs, some are insolvent, all of whom are helped by her, creating jobs to earn extra income. Recalling the 23 years of youth building her career, Hanh confided: “Our beef noodle soup is not only a brand, but also an important asset like my life”.
