Loan has an older sister, Nguyen Thi Truc (SN 1982) and a younger sister Nguyen Thu Diem (SN 1993) who both sell a pub named Su Su on Duong Ky Hiep Street (Soc Trang City). There were often conflicts in the process of living together, so Phuong moved out to stay.

On the afternoon of September 18, 2021, Loan and Truc went to Phuong’s accommodation to talk when a loud argument broke out. Phuong asked Loan and Truc to go to Su Su restaurant first and then come over to talk later. At 5:00 p.m. on the same day, Phuong went to the grocery store to buy 2 sharp knives to bring to the shop. At the pub, the three talked loudly, making Loan’s daughter cry. Phuong went out to get the car and was about to return when Loan held pepper spray and sprayed it in the face.

When Phuong pulled the door open, Truc used his hand to hold it, so Phuong pulled out a knife and stabbed Truc down. Phuong entered the restaurant and stabbed Diem many times, causing her to collapse on the spot. Not stopping, seeing Loan standing in the middle of the house, Phuong took a knife and stabbed the victim several times. As a result, Loan and Truc died on the spot, Diem was injured and damaged 46% of his health…
