“I plan to buy a Honda City RS in May. Dealers all quote the right price and only give accessories worth about 35 million VND,” Phuong Thanh (Hanoi) said.

A few months ago, Honda City was still in the period of sales, the cash incentives users could receive about 20-35 million VND. However, entering May, many sales consultants said that this B-sized sedan is currently selling at the listed price and users only receive gifts of accessories from 25-35 million VND. In addition, this model is also not available in color in some versions.

“Due to the increased demand for cars in the last month of the registration fee incentive program, Honda City does not offer cash incentives as before,” said a sales consultant in Hanoi.

Meanwhile, in the same B segment, Hyundai Accent has not shown any signs of cooling down when the number of cars arriving at the dealer is quite small and customers have to wait to receive the car. As for Toyota Vios, some sales consultants said that the car is given a cash incentive of about 15-18 million VND depending on the dealer and comes with accessories.

Notably, in this segment, Honda City is not a car with good sales like its two competitors. Meanwhile, Toyota Vios is pursuing fiercely with Hyundai Accent. At the end of the first quarter, Korean sedans achieved sales of more than 5,000 units, while Vios reached 4,855 units.

In the last month of running the preferential registration policy, the auto market recorded mixed pictures in terms of prices. Many vehicle models are affected by disruptions in the supply of components, leading to limited production volumes and increased selling prices. However, some models of cars that are not in short supply still have many incentive programs for users.

For example, VinFast Lux A2.0 and Lux ​​SA2.0 models currently have many price incentives, helping users save hundreds of millions of dong when buying a car in May. Lux A2.0 standard, list price listed at 1,115 billion dong, after applying incentive programs, the actual price is at 881.7 million dong, equivalent to a decrease of more than 200 million dong.

Kia Sorento except for the version with a new logo and an increase of 70 million VND, some dealers offer the remaining versions with a reduction of about 20 million VND, with accessories. “In addition to the new logo, the interior color of the car is also different, so the price is higher than the old version of the logo,” said a dealer sales consultant.

On the current market, many notable car models have a high price difference compared to the listed price due to limited supply. Meanwhile, many car models are having good policies, combined with general incentives from the Government to promote sales.

The government’s 50% reduction in registration fees will end on May 31. Since applying this policy at the end of 2021, the auto market has recorded positive signs, after a long time being affected by COVID-19.
