Ronaldo surpasses Rooney’s record at Man Utd

Ronaldo beat eight other candidates, including Nathan Collins, Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes, Gabriel Jesus, Son Heung-min, Thiago and Leandro Trossard, to receive the award.
This is the second time the Portuguese striker has been the best player of the month in the English Premier League this season, after September 2021. In the early stages of dressing Man UtdRonaldo has won this title four times.

With six awards, Ronaldo equals former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard’s achievement, and breaks the record of five times won by former teammate Rooney in a Man Utd shirt. Only Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero – with the same seven – have won more times than Ronaldo.

But Ronaldo’s goalscoring form does not help Man Utd qualify for the Champions League next season, and may even have to play in the Europa Conference League.
