Wushu athlete Nguyen Van Phuong got injured while competing
On the day of the May 13 competition, an unexpected incident occurred in the Tai chi competition of Wushu with male athlete Nguyen Van Phuong. During the performance, the male athlete was injured after a situation of turning, fell to the floor and was unable to continue playing.
Doctors and members of the Vietnamese wushu team immediately entered the field to give first aid to Nguyen Van Phuong and took him to the medical room. Thus, Nguyen Van Phuong’s test is not completed and will not be scored.
After receiving medical care, boxer Nguyen Van Phuong’s knee injury condition was stable, and was sent to the hotel to rest. Van Phuong’s mother said: “Phuong has been suffering from knee pain since yesterday due to overtraining, but he still tries his best to compete.”
It is known that Van Phuong suffered an injury before the SEA Games. He once resigned from the competition but was still on the final list to attend the 31st SEA Games
