Ukraine evacuates more than 260 wounded soldiers from Azovstal . factory

Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said 53 seriously injured soldiers were transported to Novoazovsk hospital, while more than 200 others were evacuated to Olenivka through a humanitarian corridor.

It is not clear how many soldiers are left in the Azovstal plant, and the Ukrainian side has pledged to rescue the soldiers still trapped inside.

The move comes hours after the Russian Defense Ministry announced an agreement to allow the wounded to leave the Azovstal steel plant for treatment in a town in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.
