The medium-cap group led the market’s rally today as the VNMID index surged nearly 33 points (2%) and the small-cap VNSML gained nearly 21 points (1.3%). Meanwhile, the largest market capitalization index VN30 only increased by nearly 7 points (0.5%).

Today, VN30 basket recorded 13 decliners, 10 gainers and 7 unchanged stocks. Notably, Masan’s MSN and Sacombank’s STB hit the ceiling, greatly contributing to the overall gain. In addition, GAS broke out 4.1% and TCB added 3.4%.

Commodity stocks also had a very positive impact. Fertilizer stocks like DCM, DPM and LAS hit the ceiling price at some point. Steel stocks with NKG gaining 5.6%, TLH and SMC gaining 3%. Chemical stocks have DGC up 5.3% and CSV up 4.1%.

Seafood export stocks recorded that Vinh Hoan’s VHC hit the ceiling price before adjusting and increased by 4.6%, Camimex Group’s CMX increased by 2.3%, IDI increased by 1.8%, ANV gained 1 more. ,6%…

Notably, some stocks surged to the highest price, notably Becamex’s BCM increased to 74,900 dong, Digiworld’s DGW reached 106,600 dong, Viet Capital Securities’ VCI at 35,500 dong, DIC Corp’s DIG increased to 55,400 dong …

In contrast, Vietcombank’s VCB fell 0.8% to 75,400 dong, being the worst-affected stock. Next was Sabeco’s SAB, which fell 2.4% to VND161,500 or FPT lost 2% to VND97,700.

Red color covers the group of speculative stocks. In which, FLC Group such as ART and KLF were close to the floor price. Apec group recorded APS reversal down 9% and IDJ down 2.6%. The Louis group had a TGG loss of 5.5% or a BII loss of 4.6%. Some individual stocks fell, while OGC and HU1 hit the floor price.

Market liquidity still hasn’t changed much when equivalent to yesterday session (May 17), the total matching value reached 15,162 billion VND. In which, matching transactions on HOSE decreased slightly by 1% to 12,968 billion VND.

Today, foreign investors continued to trade positively when buying 1,711 billion and selling 1,539 billion, equivalent to a net buying. 172 billion VND on HOSE. The most bought stocks were GAS, VNM and KBC, while SSI was the most dumped.

At the end of the session, VN-Index closed above 1,240 points and maintained the 2nd gain in a row although the cash flow has not improved. Specifically, VN-Index increased by 12.39 points (1.01%) to 1,240.76 points. The whole floor had 272 gainers, 177 losers and 64 standstill stocks.

On the contrary, HNX-Index fell 5.6 points (1.78%) to 309.84 points. The whole floor had 100 gainers, 96 losers and 58 standstill stocks. UPCoM-Index fell 1.16 points (1.21%) to 94.73 points.
