Ms. Luong Thi Muoi said: ”My family who raises eels regularly pumps water from the dam into the tank for the eels, but recently when pumping water into the tank, the eels had a phenomenon of floating, so the family had to change the water immediately”. .
According to the people, before the water was clear and unpolluted, people could still wash their clothes. Recently, when taking buffaloes out to drink water at the dam, the buffaloes do not drink it. Households living near the dam, when the well water (open well, dug well – PV) changes color, they have to ask for water from another house to use.

As noted by PV on May 20, the water on Tra Si dam is still black, foamy, caged fish of 2 farming households died, small wild fish also died a lot, in the process decomposition process.
Observing closely, PV noticed that there was a PC 250 plastic pipe buried underground stretching several hundred meters from the pig farm of KP Phuc Thinh Clean Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company to the sewer at the source of the stream flowing to the dam.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Binh, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phuc Thinh Commune (Ngoc Lac District, Thanh Hoa) confirmed that wild fish, raised in cages, died. Mr. Binh informed: ”We have checked, verified as well as statistic the number of dead fish on Tra Si dam with the weight of one household about 30kg and the other nearly 50kg”.

“To find out the cause of the fish death, the local government asked the company to stop discharging waste, report it to the District People’s Committee and specialized departments to work with the company as well as take water samples. If it is concluded that fish died due to this water source (water from pig farm – PV), the investor must completely overcome the damage to the people,” added Mr. Binh.
When PV mentioned about the underground buried waste pipe, Mr. Binh explained: ”The extension of the underground pipe to the stream head is added to the approval of the policy of environmental impact assessment (EIA – PV) and is in the process of being trial operation until June 30”.

It is known that the project of construction of a breeding farm of KP Phuc Thinh Company has a scale of 2,400 breeding sows and 4,600 weaning piglets/month, 5,000kg of aquatic products/month, built on an area of more than 11ha in Ha Noi.
