The price of gold fell by more than one million dong per tael

After four consecutive gaining sessions, the price of gold bars reversed and dropped sharply to a two-month low of 68.8 million dong per sold volume.

At the beginning of today’s trading session, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) kept the buying price unchanged at 69 million dong and selling out at 69.9 million dong. However, by the end of the afternoon, the leading company in the domestic gold bar market listed the purchase price of 68.1 million dong and the selling price of 69.1 million dong, down 900,000 dong and 800,000 dong respectively compared to yesterday.

Some large jewelry systems such as DOJI, PNJ adjusted a stronger decrease than SJC, ranging from 1-1.1 million dong per tael. These two gold houses are trading at the lowest price since the end of March when buying at VND 67.9 million and selling at VND 68.8 million.

While gold bars plunged, the price of gold rings remained stable around 54.2-55.3 million dong a tael, down 100,000 dong compared to yesterday.

The movement of the domestic precious metal market is in agreement with the world trend. Each ounce of spot gold is priced at $1,852, losing nearly $14 from the beginning of the session as the US dollar index rebounded.

This morning, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 23,103 dong. On that basis, Vietcombank is selling at 23,350 dong, unchanged compared to yesterday but increased by 40 dong compared to the end of last week. Converting to this level, each amount of gold in the country is about 17 million dong higher than the world.
