Nghe AnMr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, Chairman of Quy Hop district, and two subordinates were disciplined for allowing illegal mining of white stone in the area.
On June 3, the Inspection Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee concluded that Mr. Tung was involved in the case quarrying illegally in Ken hamlet (Chau Loc commune). Specifically, he lacked inspection and supervision of the performance of his subordinates’ tasks, so he could not timely detect and take measures to completely handle illegal mineral exploitation. This violation adversely affects the reputation of themselves, the party organization and the place of work.
The inspection agency also warned two Mr. Le Sy Hao, Head of Quy Hop Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Nguyen Minh Khoi, former Deputy Head of Quy Hop Natural Resources and Environment Department, due to lack of responsibility, did not promptly report to district leaders about the inspection results of illegal stone mining. The violations of these two men have reduced the prestige of themselves, the party organization and the workplace.
In addition, the Inspection Committee also asked Mr. Phan Dinh Dat, Secretary of Quy Hop District Party Committee and Tran Duc Loi, Vice Chairman of Quy Hop District to review and learn from experience. These people have lacked direction to inspect, supervise and urge the implementation of the management of mineral activities.

Previously, in July 2021, Nghe An police mobilized nearly 100 mobile and economic policemen to storm Mr. Loc’s white stone mining area in Ken hamlet, Chau Loc commune. Here, dozens of workers along with other machines are illegally mining. Exhibits collected approx 900 m3 white stones of all kinds and many items. 5 people related to being prosecuted.
