According to Ms. Ho Ren, bep leaves are an indispensable ingredient in the traditional soup of the M’nong people. Ms. Khanh Trinh (34 years old) – owner of a clean vegetable and fruit shop located on Truong Dinh Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) said: “Bep leaves are considered a famous specialty vegetable in the Central Highlands provinces. If it used to be abundant, now it is very scarce! Sometimes I’m lucky enough to collect this vegetable and sell it.”

Customers who ask to buy bep leaves from Ms. Khanh Trinh’s shop are mainly from the Central Highlands or those who have enjoyed dishes made from them. They often order in advance or tell her to call to notify her when there is an item.

Housewives bought home can cook soup or cook into other delicious dishes. Indeed, bep leaves are popular because of their strange, cool, and easy-to-eat flavor,” said Khanh Trinh.

Currently, bep leaves are for sale on e-commerce sites for 150,000 VND/kg fresh. Housewives who want to treat the whole family with a dish from this wild vegetable just need to order and wait for the goods to arrive.
