Chinese military plane crashes into people’s houses, bursting into flames
One person was killed and two others were injured when military plane crash in central China on 9/6.
According to State Television China CCTV, J-7 plane crashed during training and crashed in the vicinity of the airport, causing damage to people’s houses, in Xiangyang city, Hubei province.
The pilot ejected safely and was transported to the hospital along with the other injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation, the news release said.
Video of the scene of a military plane crashing into people’s homes posted online by Xinhua News Agency showed flames billowing black smoke into the air from a street in Xiangyang. Several houses appear to have been flattened in the crash.
In 2019, two Chinese pilots were killed when a navy plane crashed in Hainan province.
In March of this year, a civilian plane crashed in the Guangxi Autonomous Region, southern China, killing 132 people. It was China’s worst air disaster in decades. Flight MU5375 of China Eastern Airlines was going from Kunming to Guangzhou when it crashed. China’s civil aviation authority is still investigating the cause of the crash.
