A clip recently shared by a member of the Facebook group OFFB shows a motorbike going very fast at a crossroads being hit by a car as if it was passing. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle was thrown.

The aftermath of the accident is not yet known, but the clip drew a lot of comments from members of the group OFFB, most of whom criticized car and motorcycle drivers for not complying with the Traffic Law when they don’t slow down. .

The Road Traffic Law regulates the rules for giving way at intersections (article 24). In particular, when approaching an intersection, the driver of the vehicle must slow down and give way according to the following rules:

At intersections where there is no signal to follow the roundabout, they must give way to vehicles coming from the right; At intersections marked for following a roundabout, vehicles must give way to vehicles traveling on the left;

At the intersection between a non-priority road and a priority road or between a branch road and a main road, vehicles passing from a non-priority road or branch road must give way to vehicles traveling on the priority road or main road from all directions. .next.

So, according to the Road Traffic Act, when a vehicle enters traffic at an intersection, the first rule that drivers must follow is to slow down, then obey the rules that yield.

Regarding sanctions, the Decree stipulates sanctions for administrative violations in the field of road and rail traffic (Decision 100/2019/ND-CP), amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP stipulating that the fine is between VND 800,000 and VND 1,000. 000 will be imposed on car drivers who perform any of the following actions: “Failed to slow down and turn right on the road when driving from an alley or branch road of a main road”; “Do not give up on vehicles traveling on priority roads or main roads from any direction at the intersection.” With the 2 errors above, if it causes a traffic accident, the driver will lose the right to use the driver’s license from 02 months to 04 months.

For motorbikes, fines ranging from VND 100,000 to VND 200,000 will be imposed on motorcyclists and moped operators who do not comply with the regulations regarding yielding at intersections. If you violate the above, you will lose the right to use your SIM from 2 months to 4 months.
