Find out the reasons why women have repeated miscarriages

Recurrent miscarriage is a condition in which a woman experiences 2 or more miscarriages for less than 20 weeks of gestation.

Miscarriage was divided into 2 groups.

One of them is primary miscarriage, when a woman has never given birth to a live baby before.

The second is secondary miscarriage, when a woman has had at least one successful baby but is now having consecutive miscarriages.

The rate of such multiple miscarriages is relatively small, only about 1%. But women who fall into such situations suffer a great emotional shock.

So what are the reasons women experience recurrent miscarriages?

There are many causes of recurrent miscarriage. The largest proportion is caused by women with immune and hormonal disorders.

It may also be due to abnormalities of the egg, sperm or embryo; chromosomal abnormalities; genetic or structural abnormalities of the uterus (uterine septum).

In some cases, there are repeated miscarriages with no known cause.

Parental age is also one of the causes of the increasing number of miscarriages because the quality of eggs and sperm decreases, causing chromosomal abnormalities.

Today, most causes of recurrent miscarriage can be diagnosed by detailed evaluation and testing.

How to prevent recurrent miscarriage?

Before pregnancy:

Couples should have a general pre-pregnancy examination to prevent and treat diseases that affect the ability to conceive and maintain the fetus.

The mother should be vaccinated against mumps, measles, rubella, … 3 months before pregnancy.

Check the uterus and cervical pulse, whether the uterine septum can be treated with surgery. If the cervix is weak, it can be strengthened with temporary fixation to help maintain the pregnancy.

You still have a good chance of having a safe pregnancy and having a healthy baby if you’ve had your first miscarriage, but if you’ve had multiple miscarriages, take chromosome testing seriously.

During pregnancy:

Mothers should regularly visit prenatal care to prevent pregnancy complications.

Mothers need to avoid heavy labor, make the best use of rest time, but still have to do light exercise to keep the body comfortable.

Supplemented with sufficient micro-minerals through the daily diet, the most important of which are iron, calcium, magnesium, B6… and keep the mind comfortable, avoiding anxiety.

It is best to have children between the ages of 22 and 29. At this time, the body is fully developed, egg quality is also at its best, limiting early miscarriage. If you are pregnant at the age of 35 years and over, pregnant women must regularly monitor the development of the fetus with periodic examinations as recommended by the doctor.

Don’t carry heavy items. Vehicles must choose taxis, buses to ensure the safety of mother and child.

If there are abnormal signs such as abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, cramps, pelvic pressure… you should immediately consult a doctor for timely treatment.

After each miscarriage, you should rest for at least 6 months – 1 year for the reproductive organs to recover before getting pregnant again.
