Hanoi strongly punishes people who do not wear masks

During the holiday of April 30 – May 1, Hanoi’s functional forces handled the cases that were not wear the maskviolating regulations on prevention COVID-19 epidemic.

In just 10 minutes this morning (May 2), at the checkpoint of Hoan Kiem District Police, there were many cases of people neglecting the epidemic situation, not wearing masks when going out. On average, there is 1 case every 1 minute without wearing a mask to work.

Decree 117 stipulates an administrative sanction in the medical field from 1 to 3 million VND for not wearing a mask in public. However, there are still cases of intentional violations and many reasons to justify their violations.

Right this morning, officials of Hoan Kiem District Medical Center also sanctioned on the spot with a fine of 1 – 3 million VND for those who do not wear masks. Most people were surprised because they did not think they would be fined up to 2 million VND. Some have to ask relatives to transfer money or withdraw money at ATMs. However, there are still cases of non-cooperation.

On May 1 alone, there were more than 40 cases of fines with a total amount of 80 million VND. Police of 18 Hoan Kiem ward also constantly check, remind and sanction those who do not wear masks.
