Clarifying the case that the teacher of the special school was accused of abusing many male students

On March 24, talking with VietNamNet, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, Principal of Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted (Tra Vinh City, Tra Vinh) confirmed that a Literature teacher was accused of abusing male students.

Mr. Phong said that on February 25, students and teachers reported to the school that information appeared on social networks accusing a Literature teacher of abusing male students.

“After receiving the information, the school held a cell meeting to find out the incident.

At that time, the teacher was accused of going on a business trip, so the school sent someone to contact them online. However, in the first few days, it was impossible to contact the teacher because the teacher was busy at work,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong.

On March 10, after the teacher of Literature returned, Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted had an expanded collective meeting. “The school side has asked teachers related questions about information on social networks. The school also made 3 reports and sent it to the Department of Education and Training,” said Mr. Phong.

The first report that Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted sent to the Department of Education and Training on February 26 (after the denunciation); 2nd report on 8/3 and 3rd report on 10/3.

“Currently, the Department of Education and Training has entered into the verification and clarification of this case. Therefore, at this time, the school cannot answer whether this Van teacher violated or not and to what extent”, Mr. Phong added.

It is known that the teacher who taught Van was accused of working at Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted for about 20 years.

The Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh province said that it is coordinating with the police agency to verify and clarify this case.
