In Vietnam, ginseng dew has 2 types: fine leaf dew (fine, hairless) and hairy dew (leaves and threads with fine hairs). It is often grown in the southwest province. Mr. Vu Ngoc Khanh (36 years, An Giang) said: “During the dry season, the need for cooling and cooling of the bodies of people in the river area is increasing. In Vietnam, ginseng dew has 2 types: fine leaf dew (smooth, hairless) and hairy ginseng dew (feathered leaves and threads).

Also according to Mr. Vu Ngoc Khanh, ginseng dew is a very popular snack, just crush the ginseng dew leaves with water, strain and let it freeze for 30 to 60 minutes. Then, people add a little sugar, coconut milk will make a refreshing drink.

“In the past, this was a dish for poor families, during subsidized times and was associated with the childhoods of many people in the West, myself included. Today, from the countryside to the streets, ginseng dew has become a popular whimsical snack for many, especially young people,” said Ngoc Khanh.

With the above demand, many households in Ngoc Khanh’s hometown have invested in ginseng dew leaves. He told them that they mainly grow dew and ginseng leaves because it is easy to grow and brings higher economic efficiency. Also, growing ginseng leaves is not difficult, but you can sell fresh leaves to squeeze the ginseng juice or dry it.

Today, from the countryside to the streets, ginseng dew is an oddly popular snack, especially among young people.

“Swallow ginseng only needs to be planted once and can be harvested for a long time. Moreover, after 4-6 months of planting, harvesting can begin, the longer the vines, the more often farmers harvest will help young shoots grow faster, and get more leaves. Treating ginseng mist is also simple and doesn’t require many techniques,” said Ngoc Khanh.

Regarding the profits after harvesting dew leaves, the western man frankly said that his family and neighbors mainly sell the leaves to traders in Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City for around 30,000 VND in the garden. /kg. But they will retail to the market or shop at more than double the price, around 60,000 – 70,000 VND/kg. And dried ginseng dew is sold at a much higher price than fresh ginseng dew because it has to go through a process of 480,000 – 500,000 VND/kg.

Hoang Huong (25 years, HCMC) said that ginseng jelly is his favorite snack. Every summer, he and his colleagues often invite each other to order ginseng jelly to eat.

“The dish is cold and has a very unique taste. I like the taste which is not too sweet and sour and the aroma of ginseng dew leaves.”
