South Korea withdraws Vietnam from the list of enhanced quarantine

KCCA’s announcement said that during the 88th meeting on March 31, interdisciplinary members discussed and assessed the epidemic situation.

The decision was made after the Korea Agency for Disease Control and Prevention comprehensively reviewed the risk analysis by country and the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on entry.

In addition to Vietnam, South Korea also decided to withdraw Myanmar and Ukraine from the list of enhanced quarantine.

Previously, the Korean Government designated Vietnam to be added to the group of “quarantine-enhanced countries”. Accordingly, from April 1, all people entering Korea from Vietnam will have to self-isolate for 7 days whether they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or not.

The rate of ticket sales on flights from Vietnam to Korea is also limited to a maximum of 60% of the total number of seats.

KDCA President Jeong Eun-kyung said that in the near future, Korea plans to flexibly operate the system of assessing and assigning quarantine exemptions for countries through monitoring the risk level of for each country to make appropriate adjustments.

Also from April 1, visitors to Thailand will not need to take a COVID-19 test before departure. This is the statement on March 31 of the spokesman of the Center for handling the COVID-19 situation of Thailand.

Accordingly, Thailand will remove the requirement to have a certificate of negative PCR test results before departure for travelers entering under the “Test & Go” programs or ” Sandbox”.

However, upon arrival in Thailand, visitors will still have to take a PCR test. They were also asked to test themselves for antigen on the 5th day of arrival and monitor their health at the property.
