More than 50 universities accept Competency Assessment test results

About 70,000 candidates will take the Competency Assessment exam

According to Dr. Le Thanh Son, in 2022, the number of candidates participating in the Competency Assessment exam of Hanoi National University will reach about 70,000 entries. Therefore, this year the school has adjusted to use 20% of the enrollment target based on the results of the assessment test.

Candidates registered to take the exam will take the test on a computer and after finishing will know the results immediately. This is a test that assesses students’ integrated thinking, including analytical thinking; general knowledge of grades 10, 11, 12; social knowledge; knowledge of nature.

Member universities, affiliated faculties of Hanoi National University, Hue University, Thai Nguyen University…; Universities of Foreign Trade, National Economy, Commerce, Transport Technology, Medicine and Pharmacy Engineering, Natural Resources and Environment, etc. have officially registered to use the results of the VNU-HCM’s assessment test to do a job. in the university entrance examination methods in 2022. Detailed information on the admission methods and criteria of each major is announced in the enrollment scheme of higher education institutions.

From the beginning of March until now, the Testing Center – VNU has organized many rounds of competency assessment in Hanoi as well as some localities and will continue to hold them until July. Not only students in Hanoi but also students in many other localities such as Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen … can participate in this exam.

The current “hot” industry may not be “hot” in the next few years

According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, the current concept of “hot” industry is evaluated by inertia. When students register their aspirations, most choose “hot” schools and “hot” majors. However, industries in recent years that are considered “hot” industries, attracting a lot of attention may completely saturate in the following years. This is a problem that parents as well as the whole society need to solve to guide students to choose the right career.

According to Dr. Thanh Binh, candidates need to determine what they like, what industry group they are suitable for, and what job their personality is suitable for before applying for admission. In addition, students need to find out if that profession is suitable for their own conditions and circumstances. In particular, how are the school’s training programs, equipping themselves with what in the learning process and creating career opportunities in the future.

For example, for the University of Natural Sciences – VNU, the school has a dual degree program, that is, after one year of study, eligible students can apply for an additional major. Thus, after graduation, students can receive two university degrees and double their knowledge, experience and job opportunities. Currently, many students want to study a double degree because they want to increase their job opportunities. Some others stem from the fact that students after a period of study feel that their current major is not suitable, so they want to study another major.
