VinFast holds a test drive of electric cars for the first time in the US

The New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) 2022 will be the first event VinFast organizes for users and the media to test drive the VF 8 electric car. Participating in this exhibition, the Vietnamese automaker will display a trio of electric SUVs including VF. 7, VF 8 and VF 9.

Mr. Emmanuel Bret, VinFast Deputy General Director in charge of Global Sales and Marketing said that the organization of a test drive of the VF 8 after 5 months of launch shows commitment, speed and fierceness. “VinFast’s electric car models will soon be available to users in the US. At this exhibition, the VF 8 test-drive program promises to help users have more realistic experiences,” he said.

In addition to the display and test drive activities, the company will organize a number of programs exclusively for the media (on the afternoon of April 13); VinFirst customers (during event days) and visitors who want to discover Vietnamese culture and cuisine (Lotus Day on April 16).

5 months after the initial launch of the concept cars at LA Auto Show 2021, by NYIAS 2022, VinFast’s electric car model can be operated practically and directly experienced by users. This program applies to the VF 8 model, at the 1st floor tram test drive area, Jacob K Javits Exhibition Center.

The three models on display this time are all key products of VinFast in the US, possessing the typical design language of the Vietnamese car company, designed by the famous Italian studio Pininfarina. The VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9 all come with an Advanced Driver Assistance System, a suite of Smart Services, and a 10-year warranty.

VinFast is also one of the pioneers in applying a battery subscription policy to users in the US.

Previously, at the Consumer Electronics Show CES 2022 in early January, VinFast introduced its pure electric strategy and complete electric vehicle product range, including: VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9. In which, 2 models VF 8 and VF 9 are expected to be delivered to customers in the second half of 2022.

To prepare for market development, VinFast has just signed a contract to build its first electric vehicle factory in North Carolina, with an investment of up to 2 billion USD in phase 1, expected to create thousands of jobs. for local workers. The factory will start construction right in 2022, after obtaining a construction permit, and is expected to be operational in July 2024.

A representative of VinFast said that VF 8 and VF 9 have about 60,000 early bookings worldwide, 3 months after announcing registration. Currently, this company still maintains the VinFirst incentive program until the end of May 30.

This year’s New York International Auto Show will take place from April 15 to 24, at Jacob K Javits Exhibition Center, New York, USA.
