Schools are required to implement conditions to ensure safety for epidemic prevention and control and school safety. The Department of Education and Training will organize face-to-face learning suitable for each grade level, complete the school year plan, and ensure quality.

From February, about 1.5 million preschool children 3-6 years old, grade 1-12 students go to school directly.

With the above notice of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, all schools organize to welcome children under 3 years old. Thus, more than 1.7 million students in the city went to school at the same time.

Ho Chi Minh City has more than 350,000 preschool children with about 3,100 schools and groups of children; of which 2,500 establishments have opened. During the fourth outbreak, all preschool educational institutions stopped operating for 10 consecutive months. To date, 20 private preschools and 79 class groups have been dissolved.

According to the school year program framework plan, the preschool level ends the school year at the end of July; Primary, middle and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City will end the school year at the end of May. However, due to the program progress being affected by Covid-19, some grades may extend the school year. Specifically, the Department of Education and Training proposes the maximum time to end the school year for grades 1-4 up to June 30; block 5 is 10/6. At the lower secondary level, grade 6 can end the school year on June 15.
