Hongqi LS7 – Rolls-Royce oversized SUV

Chinese domestic brand Hongqi (Hongqi) has just launched an SUV model with a gasoline engine and high-class interior. From appearance to size, the LS7 is impressive.
Vehicle is 5,695 mm long, 2,095 mm wide, 1,985 mm high. The wheelbase is 3,309 mm. Compared to the LS7, a Range Rover with a long wheelbase of 5,252 mm looks small.

In fact, the Hongqi LS7 is longer than the BMW X7, Mercedes-Maybach GLS and even Bentley Bentayga. Only long-wheelbase versions of large American SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade ESV (5,765 mm) are marginally better than the LS7.
The appearance of the SUV is reminiscent of the super-luxury Rolls-Royce, because Giles Taylor, Hongqi’s design supervisor is now the former design director of Rolls-Royce. Large grille with vertical spokes, horizontal all-LED headlights. The highlight is the red strip in the middle of the grille representing the red flag – also the meaning of the Hong Ky brand. The steering wheel of the LS7 also seems to be inspired by Rolls-Royce. The emphasis is on the mahogany wood-clad surfaces from the dashboard, center console to the car door. In addition, it is a combination of gold details and high-class leather upholstery.
Automatic climate control system, digital clock, and separate screens for passengers in the rear seats. Passengers also have their own heated and cooled seats and massage function. Between the two rear seats is a control panel for the infotainment system and other comfort features.
LS7 uses a 4-liter V8 engine, turbocharged, 360 horsepower capacity and 550 Nm torque. The parameters do not seem to match the size when the SUV only reaches a maximum speed of 200 km / h.
Hongqi LS7 plans to sell in the domestic market from the third quarter of this year. Prices start at $235,000. With this cost, customers have countless other large SUV options, including super luxury lines like Bentley Bentayga.
