NFT auction with “founder’s first Twitter post”, half of the money will go to charity

The NFT containing the content of the first Twitter post, which belonged to Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, will be able to change hands for as little as $280. The current owner of this NFT put it up for sale for $48 million last week.

Iranian-born crypto investor Sina Estavi bought the NFT for $2.9 million in March last year. Last weekend, he announced auction it, and confirmed that 50% of the auction proceeds will be used for charity purposes. Estavi thinks the amount of donations could be as high as $25 million.

The auction ended Wednesday, with bids ranging from 0.0019 ETH to round 2 ETH, between $5.91 and $6,222. The highest bid and ETH/USD rate were both recorded at the time of writing.

My deadline has come, but if I get a good enough offer, I can sell it, which may never be sold.,” Estavi told Coindesk magazine via WhatsApp.

Estavi will have 3 days to accept the bid of the highest bidder (2 ETH), otherwise the sell order will expire.

Cryptocurrency, commonly known as “virtual currency”, has not been recognized by law in Vietnam.
