Up to now, Thai Binh Economic Zone has mainly developed on land, it is necessary to develop in the direction of exploiting marine space.

Experience is that the work of site clearance and resettlement must go first. Close coordination between the political system, people and investors is required to do well on site clearance; security must take the lead; and infrastructure must be synchronized.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in order to develop this economic zone, it is necessary to build a complete, interconnected and synchronous infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure, electricity and water infrastructure and social infrastructure such as worker housing, environmental infrastructure. .

Analyzing more closely the requirements for infrastructure development, the Prime Minister asked the province to use public investment capital to complete the infrastructure connecting the economic zone, first of which is the coastal road project to connect as soon as possible. as possible with Cat Bi airport, Lach Huyen port of Hai Phong. Thai Binh Economic Zone has an area of ​​over 30,000 hectares, of which the area for industry, urban areas and services is over 8,000 hectares. This is a great advantage for Thai Binh to develop its industry.

The economic zone is built according to the model of an integrated, multi-sectoral, dynamic, efficient and sustainable economic zone associated with green growth, conservation and promotion of the value of marine ecosystems, historical relics, cultural. The place is expected to become the driving force and key economic development of the province and the South Red River Delta.

In order to successfully implement the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, from 2021 to 2025, Thai Binh will strive to basically improve the infrastructure of the economic zone, ensure a relatively uniformity and promote the attraction of new projects. the industry has advanced and modern technology, causing less environmental pollution; shaping the development of modern and civilized coastal urban areas, associated with production and business functional zones.

The province strives to attract about 25 large projects by 2025 with a total investment of about 500,000 billion VND; economic structure by sectors: industry – construction accounted for 55 – 60%, trade – service accounted for 28 – 30%, agriculture, forestry and fishery accounted for 10 – 17%; create new jobs for 30,000 – 40,000 employees; per capita income is 1.5-2 times higher than the provincial average.

In addition to 2 thermal power projects that have been completed and are being completed for commercial power generation, there are a number of investors who have registered to research and develop wind power, in which one investor has been granted an investment certificate for this project. Tien Hai Wind Power Plant project phase I with a capacity of 40 MW, total investment capital of nearly 2,000 billion VND.

A number of large and key projects (Thai Binh 1 and 2 Thermal Power Plants, Amonium Nitrate Plant, Ham Rong gas project…) have been facilitated by the province to deploy; a number of projects have been completed and put into production and business operations stably, bringing high economic efficiency, creating a breakthrough in growth and economic restructuring of the province.

Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park is the first industrial park established in the EZ and this industrial park was assigned a pioneering mission by the province, laying the foundation for promoting the development of Thai Binh Economic Zone.
