I don’t want to sell the house I bought with the money I’ve accumulated for 22 years

I belong to the first generation 7X, in a small province, went to school and stayed in Ho Chi Minh City since 1991. The house was only acquired after many years of hard work, so I love it very much. Life can’t say anything in advance, I’m not as good as heaven. My career changed, so I had to move back to my hometown, temporarily living with my parents in early 2017.

I spend the weekend visiting the house, taking good care of it, thinking that when I retire, I will come back to live here. After nearly a year of leaving the house empty, just going back and forth to visit and take care of was also inconvenient, the family advised to rent it out. I choose the tenant carefully, leave all the furniture, equipment, and cheap rent with the hope that they will keep and take good care of the house. After four years looking back, I do not realize my house, the rent is not enough to repair and take care of it later.

In 2021, I bought 500 m2 of land in the countryside and built my own house, also growing a few fruit trees.

I am single, no children. The house or land will be left to the brothers and grandchildren later. I really want to keep the old house but am afraid of deterioration and decrease in value compared to the land in my hometown. Family members also advise selling to bring money back to their hometown to buy more land, the value in the future will be more than the house. I love the house so I kept wondering, until now the price of the country land is very high, so it is difficult to think. What should I do with my house?
