More than 5,500 billion VND to build a road connecting Thang Long Boulevard with Hoa Lac Expressway
The Ministry of Transport has just approved the proposal of the Hanoi People’s Committee to build a 6.7 km long road connecting Thang Long Boulevard with Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh highway at a cost of 5,500 billion VND, helping to smooth the highway from the boulevard. The project includes a 6-lane urban highway, parallel roads on both sides with two motorized lanes on each side, the scale equivalent to Thang Long Boulevard. The route will be built synchronously with technical infrastructure, lighting, and traffic organization. Of the total project investment, the central budget is expected to allocate 2,000 billion VND, and Hanoi City will ensure the rest. The project is expected to be implemented from now to 2026.
Currently, the section connecting Thang Long Boulevard to Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh Expressway is a 12-meter wide asphalt concrete road, the road surface has deteriorated. Thang Long Boulevard is about 30 km long, which is a radial highway to the west, connecting the center of Hanoi with Hoa Binh and the Northwest provinces, has been exploited since October 2010 with a scale of 6 expressways and parallel roads. act on both sides.
Continuing with this expressway is Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh road 26 km long, which has been exploited since October 2018 with a scale of 2 lanes, speed of 80 km/h. This route in the planning will be expanded into a 4-lane highway, followed by Hoa Binh – Son La highway in the future.
