On May 18, the Vietnamese boat racing team competed in the final round of all 4 Canoeing/Kayak SEA games 31 at the National Training Center, in Minh Duc town (Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong city). .

In the women’s doubles Canoeing content of 1,000m, Truong Thi Phuong and Nguyen Thi Ngan faced fierce competition with Thailand and Indonesia in the first 500m.

However, with endurance, the two female athletes of the Vietnamese team broke out in the last 300m. Thereby, finishing with a record of 4 minutes 30 seconds 971 and won gold.

With the same content, two Thai female rowers closely followed the Vietnamese team, winning silver, while the Indonesian women’s team won bronze.

Sharing after the victory, Truong Thi Phuong said that she had participated in the SEA game three times in singles and this was the first time participating in the SEA game in the women’s doubles Canoeing.

The female athlete shared, the Thai and Indonesian women’s teams are very strong in the Canoeing content, so the team members have trained for a long time and completed the lesson plans set by the coach.

“In SEA games 31, I had a good teammate from practice and competition. Today, both sisters work together smoothly and distribute their fitness properly, so they can surpass their opponents at the important moment,” said Truong Thi Phuong.

As for the Canoeing 4 men’s 1,000m, it is the gold medal competition of many strong teams such as Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam. All four teams closely followed each other throughout the race.

In the last meters of the track, the results of the referee team determined that the Vietnamese team finished first, with a record of 3 minutes 35 seconds 147, slightly better than the second runner-up Indonesia by more than 1 second.

Athletes: Pham Hong Quan, Tran Thanh, Nguyen Quoc Toan and Hien Nam won the first gold medal for the Vietnamese men’s Canoeing team.

Thereby, athletes Pham Hong Quan, Tran Thanh, Nguyen Quoc Toan and Hien Nam won precious gold medals in the men’s 1,000m Canoeing 4 event. With the same content, Indonesia team won silver, Myanmar team won bronze. This is the first gold medal of Vietnamese male rowers.

In the Rowing, Canoeing, and Kayak events in sailing, the Indonesian men’s team excelled and won most of the gold medals. In addition, Singapore and Thailand are also very strong competitors, competing directly with Vietnam for medals.
