The new government will have the appearance of a new ministry, the Department of Energy Conversion, led by Ms. Pannier-Runacher, the current Minister of Industry, in charge.

Overall, including Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the new French cabinet will consist of 14 men and 14 women.

Speaking on TV channel TF1, French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne said:

“This is first an egalitarian government, then a government balanced between some of the people who have served as ministers in recent years and new figures chosen for their ability and dedication, including faces of the left, the right and the center, or even those who have never been in politics.”

Ms. Elisabeth Borne said that the new government’s first priority is to submit to the French National Assembly a bill on purchasing power support. The main content of this bill is to support the French people with money to buy food, maintain tax policies to prevent price escalation, prolong the measure to support energy prices, increase pensions immediately. and encourage business owners to advance a bonus of 3 times the minimum wage for employees.

The new government’s policies will focus around two areas of special interest to President Emmanuel Macron, namely ecological transformation and energy transition, the French Prime Minister affirmed.
