Hyundai Grand i10 or Kia Morning are already familiar names and almost become the first “candidate”. However, during his time abroad, Truong knew about VinFast’s Fadil model, so he had to find out.
The first impression of the School with Fadil is that this model has a design that is not as eye-catching as Korean models. However, when he delved deeply and tried the car, he realized that Fadil has more practical things than i10 and Morning.

Better soundproofing
About Vietnam, I noticed that the big difference compared to the UK – where I studied abroad – is the dense traffic, so the noise from outside gets into the car a lot. At that time, I found Fadil to be a more suitable model than i10 and Morning because of its very good environmental soundproofing ability. The thick and sturdy chassis of Fadil also makes me feel more secure during use.
Thanks to the Fadil’s good environmental soundproofing, I feel more comfortable listening to music, sometimes sitting in the car enjoying the quiet space is also very comfortable, helping me not to get tired when I have to drive a lot in the city. Sometimes when I go back to my hometown, I find good soundproofing more valuable. Family members sitting in the car can comfortably rest without being bothered by outside noises.
Better facilities
Perhaps in the price range of just over 300 million VND (I bought the Standard version), Fadil is almost unbeatable in terms of interior amenities. This car has leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 6-speaker sound system. Meanwhile, according to my research, with this money range, I can only buy i10 or Morning felt seats and 4-speaker sound. I prefer the leather goods from the company over the leather on the outside because the quality seems to be better. After buying it, I just need to install each screen to use it.
Better to drive
As a young person, I love to drive. It must be admitted that Fadil feels more comfortable to drive than i10 or Morning. The car’s 1.4L engine is quite loaded, running on the road overtaking other cars is very easy. Fadil’s steering wheel is also firmer than other Korean models.
Of course, the trade-off is higher fuel consumption, but for me, that’s not important because it’s still in the economical range. When I go to a mixture of both the inner city and the road, the car reports an average of 6-6.5 liters / 100 km. In the current time of high gas prices, going to Fadil is still a wise choice.
More tender
Sometimes I have to travel long distances, so I give priority to the smoothness. Fadil is clearly quieter than rival models.
According to my research, there can be 2 reasons why Fadil is quieter. The first is a CVT gearbox that feels very smooth, with little delay. Meanwhile, i10 or Morning still use 4-speed gearbox. The second is the thicker Fadil tire. The car I’m driving is the Standard version using 15-inch rims and the largest 185/55R15 tires in the segment.
In general, I think VinFast Fadil is a car with an unattractive appearance, but the “structure” is excellent if calculated in the price range of VND 300-400 million. For those who don’t care too much about the exterior and aim for real value, I find Fadil a reasonable choice in this small urban car segment.
