Contactless payments will be faster and more secure than cash or traditional swipe cards.

The form of payment by contactless card has just been deployed at Petrolimex’s petrol stations nationwide. In the immediate future, the accepted card type is Visa’s contactless electronic payment card.

In this project, Petrolimex used POS devices and installed them at retail petrol stations nationwide, allowing customers to tap to pay with Visa cards. The newly deployed POS device meets the requirements of fire prevention and safety, integrates with the pump column, connects wirelessly (Wi-Fi) to serve customers paying at the pump pole.

In contactless payments, users can make transactions without giving the card to others. This helps prevent card fraud and ensures the safety of customers and petrol station employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Visa’s research on “Consumer Payment Attitudes in 2021”, Vietnam is on track to grow contactless payments with nearly half (46%) of consumers using this payment method.

In addition, 6 out of 10 contactless card payment users have transacted more often since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and up to one third of Vietnamese users anticipate using cashless payments. for future gasoline payments.
