How to call Siri to alert the battery when plugging and unplugging iPhone
Follow these steps using the Shortcuts app – your iPhone will automatically notify the battery level when plugged in and unplugged from the charger.
With the following trick by Shortcuts – an application built by Apple – the virtual assistant Siri on the iPhone will automatically notify (in English) the battery level when you plug it in and also unplug it.
If you don’t have it installed or rarely use it, you need to go to App Store to reload this app before starting.
First, you open the Shortcuts application, the Automation tab select the + button > select Create Personal Automation and select Charger. The next screen selects both “Is Connected” and “Is Disconnected” and then clicks Next.
This step you will want the iPhone to notify both when charging and unplugging the charger, you can choose 1 or both according to individual needs.
Create a new automated program using the Shortcuts app to notify the battery level on iPhone Screen capture |
On the next screen, select “Add Action” or in the search bar below you type the words “Get Battery Level.” then click select.
Repeat the above action, this time you type “Speak Text” to create a new action for Siri (speak text content). In this step, if the battery is at 50%, Siri will only say “function” (50).
The program will perform the action of reading the battery level when plugged in and unplugged Screen capture |
Therefore, you can add default text for Siri to read more. For example, you can force Siri to say “My current battery level is 50 percent.” then click on the area before the word “Speak”, when the cursor is in the right place, enter “My current battery level is.”, then move the cursor after the word “Battery Level” and press “percent”.
This helps Siri read the iPhone battery level when plugged in and unplugged Screen capture |
Here, you can also choose whether Siri’s voice is male or female, or even change to another language (no Vietnamese). Click Next to continue.
On the next screen, turn off the “Ask Before Running” place, a dialog box appears, select “Don’t Ask”, the operation is to help the program automatically do it without asking. Finally, click the Done button and you’re done.
This step helps the program not ask again and again every time you plug and unplug your iPhone battery Screen capture |
So from now on, every time you plug in your iPhone whether it’s wired or wireless, Siri will be called out to notify you by voice telling you the current battery level.
