Noodle packing robot in Japan

This is seen as a solution for food manufacturers struggling with labor shortages.

Robots 1.5 m high named “Foodly”, built by Japanese robot developer RT. The robot is equipped with an image recognition system that captures the food in front of them. Then, the fork-shaped robotic arm will pick up the noodles on the green conveyor belt. This conveyor belt weighs the noodles and then transfers them to the packing box.

The robot can pick up up to 500 grams of noodles or other foods. The use of these robots can help cut labor costs and ensure better social distancing among employees.

The robotic system currently costs about $250,000.
