Dinh Dat once revealed that when the epidemic caused the tourism industry to crash, he was forced to find his own way. Of the many ideas, he chose to make rings and jewelry from bolts, screws, pipes/faucets – a new direction he had never tried before.

On a mid-March morning, we chatted with Dinh Dat about his career to better understand the story of the man from the country of cloth.
– Hi Dat, where did you decide to make household items into something interesting and somewhat “precious” like jewelry?
The epidemic broke out, so my work was affected, I had more free time. Especially with the mindset of an art lover from a young age, I came up with a great idea – using screws to make jewelry.
The reason I chose the screw is because the shape and material is suitable for forming rings or other jewelry. Besides that, I am also a person who likes simple and everyday things the most.
– The fact that a man meticulously makes jewelry – which is a woman’s favorite item over men, does Dat have a hard time?
With the meticulous work that women have to do, from the start, the products I create are very sketchy, lineless and unsophisticated because my hands cannot be skilled. But instead, I spend more and more time learning and practicing, developing knowledge and… the next product is gradually refined and perfected. To be honest, some of my first products when they were made broke down before they could be finished. With the next product, I have learned a lot and improved my hands (laughs).

– When recording and creating products, how did Dat get the best product images?
When I do everything from shooting to editing, I have to change camera angles to make it easier for viewers to see, along with image and product quality. . There were times when the scene wasn’t to my liking and I had to go back and forth up to 20 times, not always perfect. Sound, light and all by myself.
Remember the first video because of poor editing and post-production techniques, so the product and video quality is not very good. Until now, I have completed 6 products, through a lot of pressure, my technique is gradually improving.

– How do you organize your work and time to fulfill your own desires?
Usually I make it at night because during the day I can help my parents with homework and do many other things. Above all, I always maintain a relaxed spirit before implementing because ideas and creativity are not always available. If I get too stressed, I will stop to let my mind relax and regain creative inspiration.
– Seeing that Dat is 24 years old, he is busy “creating” art – something very few young people pursue, how will the family react?
I am luckier than many other young people in that I have the support of my family. It has helped me develop creative thinking and ingenuity, thoroughness and patience. Parents are very happy with the products they have made.

– On her personal page, Dat shares a lot of ring clips. Why did you choose a ring over others? And was the ring pre-ordered?
Actually I make not only rings but also earrings and necklaces, the future is bracelets. Currently, I am consolidating more thoughts to make the product richer and more attractive.
When I see myself posting videos and products on Facebook, there are several people texting me asking about my prices and business. However, in the near future, I will be stocking up on a number of products that have been made as souvenirs and gifts for my loved ones on special occasions.
At this point, I will be creating a new product for auction and the money will be used to support a very difficult situation. For business, I haven’t thought about it, just want to focus on improving my skills.

– In the future, does Dat intend to “upgrade” what has been and is being created into a collection or project?
Yes (laughs). I wanted to create a collection for myself, along with a new charity project. I’ve loved volunteering for a long time, so when I get support from people, I’ll use the products I create to do meaningful work.
