The significance of finding the second black box in solving the mystery of the plane crash in China

On the morning of March 27, the second black box of the crashed plane was found in an area about 40 meters from the crash site. This is a black box that records flight data, storing important parameters such as flight path, speed, altitude and engine power, which can recreate the last moments before the plane crashed. After being discovered, the rescue force sent the device to Beijing for analysis.

The two black boxes are considered the most important clues to help investigators determine the cause of the plane crashes. Two black boxes are designed to withstand fire and strong impact, usually located behind the cargo hold. They are equipped with radio navigation devices that activate when they fall underwater, but do not operate on land. Black boxes used to use magnetic tape, but manufacturers have now switched to storing data in digital form to hold more information.

The black box can tell investigators what the pilot was doing before the plane crashed, whether they noticed problems with the plane, as well as the working condition of the engine and other equipment.

After the accident, the Boeing Co 737-800 of China Oriental Airlines was completely destroyed with more than 33,700 pieces of debris. Chinese media said the accident left a 20m deep hole in the ground.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), some parts of the second black box were severely damaged, which could hinder the task of retrieving and decoding the information inside. Earlier, on March 23, the rescue team found the first black box (CVR cockpit voice recorder), and it is likely also in a badly damaged condition.

The Boeing 737-800 of China Eastern Airlines was scheduled to fly from Kunming city to Guangzhou, but then crashed in a mountain village in Teng county, Wuzhou city. , Guangxi afternoon of March 21. The plane plunged almost vertically at a speed of hundreds of kilometers per hour.

Data collected by Flightradar24 shows that the plane was flying at an altitude of nearly 9,000 meters at about 2:20 p.m., more than an hour after takeoff, when it suddenly dropped. After briefly regaining altitude, the plane continued to descend at a speed of nearly 600 km / h in the last few seconds.

All 132 people on board, including 123 passengers and nine crew members, were killed.

No one on board survived and air traffic controllers heard no reports from the pilot when the plane went down. Therefore, the black boxes are the most important clues to unravel the mystery related to this catastrophic accident.
