Crocodile jumps on fishing boat, shocked couple
Kathryn Dyball and Cameron Bates were fishing on a 4.6-meter boat in the Kimberley region of northwest Australia when they discovered the crocodile lurking in the water.
In the video they posted on YouTube, the crocodile swims quickly towards the boat. It seems to be chasing the fishing line.
When the fishing line was pulled up, the crocodile tried to grab it but failed. It paused for a moment before looking at the camera and jumping out of the water.

It then tried to jump onto the boat, burying its snout into the camera, causing the camera to shake. The image in the video then shows the alligator back to the water as the boat moves away.
Dyball was shocked to see the crocodile jump out of the water.
There are an estimated 150,000 saltwater crocodiles in Australia.
Saltwater crocodiles are known to be more territorial than freshwater crocodiles. They often attack an opponent when they feel their territory is threatened or when they detect prey.
It’s not clear if there were any creatures snapping at Dyball and Bates’ fishing line.
